Catey Awards 2011
The Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa Yorkshire has won the award for Independent Hotel of the Year at the prestigious 2011 Catey awards which are considered to be the hospitality industry's equivalent of the Oscars.More than 1,000 senior decision-makers were witness to the event held at London's Grosvenor House. The award was sponsored by Colliers International and presented to Simon Rhatigan of the Feversham Arms Hotel.
Since their launch in 2007, the Hotel Cateys have already become the hotel industry’s only truly independent benchmark of operational excellence. The awards recognise, reward and celebrate the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to support the UK’s hotel sector by delivering an exceptional guest experience day in, day out.
2011 so far has been a successful year for the Feversham Arms Hotel having already won Small Hotel / Townhouse of the Year 2010 at the White Rose Awards, Silver award for Small Hotel of the Year at the Enjoy England Excellence Awards 2011, Best Luxury resort Spa at the World Luxury Spa Awards 2011. Also the hotel was voted in the top 3 UK resort hotels by Sunday Times Travel Readers’ Awards 2010.
AA Awards 2012 : Fantastic Results for the Feversham: 4 Red Stars and 3 Rosettes
We are thrilled to have been awarded 4 AA Red stars, only the cream of the crop of 4 star hotels acheive this accolade, showing consistent excellence throughout the business.
Our restuarant has also acheived a 3rd AA rosette, putting it amongst the top 10% of restaurants in the UK. Again, the standard of inspection to gain these rosettes is very high and the offering must remain at a consitently excellent level over a number of visits over the course of a year.
We are delighted that this takes us to a new level of excellence and hope you will come and stay with us and experience it for yourself soon.
These awards offer a real sense of pride for the whole team who have worked extremely hard to acheive the standards required.

What a fantastic few years we have had here at The Fev.. On the 28th September 2009, we were presented the award at a glittering awards ceremony in London. To be in the company of "Gleneagles Hotel & Spa" who won the same award for Scotland and "The Connaught Hotel", who won for London is just fantastic.
From the excitement of the development of the hotel and the launch of the Verbena Spa, to the recognition of our concepts and ideas as they finally come into their own with award nominations galore this year. We have come far, this award tops it all off brilliantly!
AA Hotel of the Year is widely regarded as the ultimate accolade for hotels in the UK. We have a truly great team of people at The Feversham and only with the help of their dedication and hard work could we have gone on to win.
We have really tried hard to offer our guests a truly luxurious stay, yet keep the atmosphere and feel of the hotel comfortable and relaxed. We hope we can continue to delight as we carry on developing and improving over the next year to get closer to our aim of being the North’s best hideaway hotel.
We had a lovely celebration dinner in November with our family, friends, colleagues and some guests of the hotel and spa.

Alastair Sawday's
"Britain's Favourite Hotel" 2009- 2010
We scooped this award on the 18th October 2009 - when we were named ‘Britain’s Favourite Hotel’ by the readers of Alastair Sawday’s travel guide ‘Special Places to Stay’.
The ceremony that took place on Bristol’s inner harbourside was organised by Alastair Sawday Publishing who publish a series of guidebooks recommending around 5000 very special places to stay in the UK, Europe and beyond. 150 of the finest hoteliers, B&B and holiday home owners attended the ceremony.
This was the first year the Sawday Reader Awards have taken place. The categories for the awards were sent out via the Sawday monthly newsletter and readers were invited to vote for their favourite. The categories included Best Breakfast, Finest Garden, Friendliest Bed & Breakfast, Greenest Bed & Breakfast, Favourite Bed & Breakfast and Favourite Hotel or Inn. A shortlist was drawn up from the entries and the winners were then selected by Alastair Sawday Publishing.

Partnership awards the Fev
"Hotel of the Year" 2009- 2010
What makes this one really special? During the summer we were nominated by the public, from there we were asked to attend a ceremony in November as an official finalist. The fact that our customers nominated us again and again is the icing on the cake.
The Fev team attended with fingers crossed, and to our delight we received the award "Hotel of the Year" for the Moors and Coast region of the tourist board. To enter the award we submitted our case; with information on our customer service standards, testimonials, our "green" policy, our marketing and PR activity and of course, a report on our business results.... later followed a mystery shopper visit organised by the tourist board.
What can we say? 2009 - 2010 is our year.... and of course we owe a huge thanks to our customers for nominating us.

They keep on coming! - York Press Business Awards
"Best Hospitality & Tourism Business" 2009 -2010
45 businesses made it to the York Press Business Finals, a record number of entries in the 19 year history of these Business Awards. The glittering awards ceremony took place at York Racecourse, in their Ebor Suite on the 26th November 2009.
We are very proud to have been selected as finalists, and then to receive the award for "Best Hospitality & Tourism Business" is awesome. Our team are over-the-moon, and we now have a little table in our gallery area were we can display all our awards. Simon and Jill Rhatigan attended the awards together with over 300 guests and finalists, and were truly humbled by so many entrepreneurs showing such innovation and growth in what can only be termed as a bumpy year for all.
Simon Rhatigan explained "Being recognised amongst a room full of liked minded businessmen and women, lots of whom we have watched grow their business in these hard times is truly an honour. We are so very proud to be rewarded for our teams hard work and exceptional service"
