About the Hotel

People sometimes ask me to describe what kind of hotel this is and, to be honest, I’ve never found that easy. It doesn’t categorise very well. We’re country but not country house, a bit stylish, but not designer, run well, but not stuffy, good food not complicated food, lots of art, but not artyfarty (did I really just write that?). And on top of that, we have a lovely spa.

Why do people stay here? Well, all kinds of reasons really. Lots of celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries. Others just like walking in the National Park, exploring the moors and coast, some cycle, some drive, some explore the shops and galleries of Helmsley and some do just chill out in the spa.

There you are then – it’s a kind of modern, country-inn, hotel, with good food, and art and a great spa to chill out in hotel. Easy!
