October 2009

1st until 31st - A Grand Tour of Studley Royal, Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal

Running daily at 2pm - Take a tour of the formal gardens, the Deer Park and the Water Gardens.

 16th - Annual Proms Silver Band Concert, Hambleton Forum, Northallerton

 7:30pm - Enjoy the Annual Proms concerts from an award winning Silver Band, playing classical and modern pieces, it has something for everyone.

16th until 18th - Pickering War Weekend, Pickering

Parades, steam trains, dressing up, swing concerts and even air raids, as Pickering takes a step bak in time to the 1940's.

 19th - Pippintastic, Nunnington Hall

10:30am until 1pm - Join the Hall's Head Gardener to find out more (and taste) the large variety of apples grown in the Hall's gardens. Followed by lunch in the tearoom.

 25th - Fountains in Autumn, Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal

 10:30am - A gentle guided walk through the estate to discover the delights of autumnal nature

 30th - Walk with the Head Gardener, The Walled Garden, Scampston

10:30am - 12noon - Join the Head Garden in this year's final Garden Walk. He will guide you through the Garden, your questions about plants growing in the garden and give you tips for growing the plants in your own garden!

 24th until 1st November - Medieval legends and Knights Trail, Helmsley Castle

From 10am - Let the kids loose in the castle's dressing up box, and let them become Robin Hood, Maid Marion, St George,  King Arthur or Guinevere. Then set them off around the castle to spot all the mini models medieval Knight to receive a prize!

 

November 2009

6th - NSPCC Christmas Shopping Fair, Castle Howard

9:30am until 3:30pm - get a head start on your Christmas shopping and do your bit for charity with a great variety of stalls, from tasty treats to pampered pet products and everything in between!

14th and 15th  - Christmas Craft Fair, Duncombe Park

Open 10am until 5pm - Start your christmas shopping early! Many stalls with different gift ideas and lots of tasty treats to sample.

 

December 2009

6th December - Christmas Fair, Helmsley Walled Garden

Open 10am until 3pm - Get into the festive mood, many stalls with gift ideas, minces pies and carols! If he can make time in his very busy schedule, Santa will make a brief visit!

13th December - Christmas Carols, Rievaulx Abbey

1:30pm - Get into the festive mood with Christmas Carols at the Abbey ruins accompanied by Bilsdale Brass Band

17th December - Merlin Consort, Feversham Arms Hotel

Starting 7pm for 7:30pm - A group of semi professional singers who have gained a considerable following throughout the North and East perform festive pieces that you will know and love. The evening also includes a delicious three course meal. Please contact reception for more information or to book tickets.

18th December - Yorkshire Chamber Choir - Feversham Arms Hotel

Starting 7pm for 7:30pm - Put that seasonal spring in your step and treat yourself to a programme of Christmas and seasonal music by the fantastic Yorkshire Chamber Choir. The evening also includes a delicious three course meal. Please conatct recpetion for more information or to book tickets.

21st December - Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir - Feversham Arms Hotel

The Philharmonic normally perform in Wakefield Cathedral and number at over a hundred at full strength. We have managed to persuade a select few to come and entertain you with carols and festive songs, both traditional and modern, a fantastic start to the festive season.
