Simon Kelly, Head Chef
Simon has had an important life event recently, the birth of his second child, Lewis. Since joining The Feversham Arms Hotel as Head Chef in September 2006 he has firmly planted his family roots in Helmsley, living very close to the hotel. He brings a wealth of experience in quality restaurants & hotels, including time spent learning from Michel Roux at The Waterside Inn and Nico Ladenis at Nico at Ninety Park Lane. Sarah Hughan, Sales & Marketing Executive
Sarah joined us in September ’09 and has been very busy ever since. Sarah’s a talker! She loves to tell you about the hotel and her favourite treatments in the spa. Sarah adds a bit of “glam” to the team and loves all things shiny! Her boyfriend, Pete, is a radio presenter and with her degree in marketing from Edinburgh she’s well qualified to keep us in the media and promote the hotel. Jennie Hirst,Events Reservations
Jennie moved back to be near her family in Yorkshire after working in reservations at the Maybourne group who own Claridge's, The Berkeley and The Connaught in London. In the beginning she was a member of the reception team, and now she organises all the private events, weddings and corporate events at the hotel. It’s Jennie’s skill in the small detail that takes the weight off our customer’s shouldersCatherine Feather, Deputy General Manager
Catherine is our Deputy General Manager and her history with the Feversham goes back a long way. She manages to juggle two teenage children and an understanding husband as well as putting heart and soul into the hotel. Catherine is a familiar and welcoming figure to our regular guests who enjoy having a catch up with the latest developments here in the hotel. Catherine is involved in all aspects of the running of The Feversham, and keeps her finger firmly on the pulse ...
Amy Newlands, Front Office Manager
Amy is our Front Office Manager, who organises Reception and Reservations departments. She joined us from the Relais & Chateaux "The Royal Crescent Hotel" in Bath. Charming and welcoming Amy has established herself within the team very quickly, overseeing the new reception desk & offices and, of course, more staff to look after you. Bob Bobinski & Pawel Sobiszek, Joint Restaurant & Beverages Managers
Bob oversees the restaurant mainly, his interactive nature with the guests ensures he is always fondly remembered. Born in Poland, Bob isn't his real name (funny that) we call him Bob as his real name, Zbyszko, isn't that easy to pronounce - or spell!! Since being at The Feversham he has enjoyed our countryside culture and lives close by with his wife, Marta who also works here too.
Pawel Sobiszek, again from Poland looks after the bar and takes charge of the wine list, his knowledge and enthusiasm for wines shines through and gains him excellent comments on the guest's comments cards. He also manages all other forms of liquid refreshments for the hotel. Pawel loves road cycling, what a great part of the world to cycle in too. His last holiday though, involved no cycling at all, Ibiza seemed to provide other activities for him! Charles Trueman, Assistant Manager
Originally born in Yorkshire, Charlie and Polish wife Marlena moved back North to join The Feversham as Assistant Manager. Charlie, also handles the recruitment of our team, together with the induction programmes, first aid training and all the important Health & Safety issues at the hotel. He is currently putting lots of TLC into renovating his house, and if he gets a spare two minutes his time-out is spent playing golf. Emma Fletcher, Head Housekeeper
Emma is our senior person in Housekeeping and has responsibility for overseeing the cleanliness of the bedrooms & public areas. In many ways, this is the least glamorous, but most important, job in the hotel and Emma marshals a team of hard-working people to service your rooms twice a day. Very much a local girl, Emma has been a quietly efficient stalwart of The Feversham for many years.
Alec Young, Head of Maintenance
We all call for Alec when a tap is dripping or a door is noisy - it's his job to keep the rooms and public areas in tip top shape. One of our longest standing employees Alec's been with us for a few years now and started as bars manager. He can turn his hand to most things, his career history includes a publican, a telephone engineer and a gardener to name but a few! His love of bowling has taken him to the national finals in Worthing this year - go on Alec!
