Sample Wine List

If you've been here before, you may realise that the wine list now has a different format and an expanded choice.

I'm grateful to John Atkinson Master of Wine for his advice in both respects.

I hope it'll provide you with a better read, but still avoids being the weighty and daunting tone that posh restaurant wine lists often end up becoming.

I've put in a few personal recommendations where I think certain wines are particularly interesting or good value. If you try any of them, please let us know what you think. You might like to take a look at the section on Magnums, which are good value when compared to two single bottles. You know how it is, one bottle’s often not quite enough – particularly if you’re a table of more than two.

Having said all of that, the enjoyment’s sometimes lost if we over-analyse wine – don’t forget to enjoy it, whatever you choose!
