Friday 16th October
A member of the kitchen team has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in isolation, together with their household bubble.
As a precautionary measure, we have asked the rest of the kitchen team on the same shift to self-isolate and take a test.
We have taken the decision to close the restaurant to dinner guests and operate on a bed and breakfast table service, for the next few days with a separate team who have not been in contact with the positive case.
We are in the process of getting in touch with guests who have booked dinner reservations or a stay with us over the next few days, with their options and apologise to guests who were looking forward to dining with us and look forward to welcoming them back for the full dining experience very soon. A deep clean operation has been undertaken on top of our stringent protocols in place to ensure that in an event such as this we can continue to operate and offer a ‘covid secure’ environment and our usual levels of service. The relevant authorities have been informed and we continue to follow the current guidance.
Tuesday 13th October
In line with the government announcements on 12th October we can confirm that the hotel is operating as per our previous guidelines and manifesto.
The Feversham Arms (situated within the Ryedale district) is listed in the bottom tier, a medium risk area, which includes the rule of six, track and trace and the 10pm curfew on serving food and drink. Details of these policies are listed on our manifesto.
In view of the exceptional circumstances we are currently facing, our ‘book with confidence’ terms and conditions mean that we can transfer your deposit to a future stay if you are impacted by these latest restrictions.
We ask that if you are in an area affected by these new restrictions that you contact the hotel so that we can postpone your reservation for you.

Thursday 24th September
We have updated our manifesto and will implement this with effect from Thursday 24th September 2020. To remain ‘covid secure’ we ask for your help and understanding in the following areas to ensure we provide the level of service associated with the Feversham.
On arrival you will find an NHS QR code in reception and the lounge area. If you have the NHS track and trace app please scan this code and you should receive a confirmation text. If you are visiting the hotel as a non-resident and do not have the app please leave your details at reception. For hotel guests we collate guests details at the point of reservation or check-in so we can be sure we have all the necessary information.
The rule of six means that we can only take table reservations up to this size.
To allow for smooth and timely dinner experience we are offering table bookings between 6pm and 8pm. If you have an existing booking out with of these times we will be in touch to look at the best option for you.
We are asking all guests to peruse the menu on check-in and let us know their menu choices before dinner so that we can maintain our exceptional service standards.
We are very lucky to have a selection of suites within the hotel that means our room service dining option is very popular. This can be taken up until 9.30pm if you are staying in one of our suites.
You can choose to dine later than 8pm and we can arrange for your dessert to be served in your room or you may feel that you only want one or two courses which will reduce your dining time.
We will provide all service for you at the table, in true Feversham style.
Unless dining or drinking our guests, and our team, will be required to wear face coverings throughout the hotel
The bar and restaurant will end service at 10pm but we can confirm that guests do not have to retire at this time and can continue to relax in public areas.
Any further refreshment after 10pm can be accessed via room service.
We will continue to follow and implement future Government and Public Health England (PHE) guidance as this is updated.
Thursday 30th July
We are delighted to announce that from Saturday 1st August our Verbena Spa will begin to offer treatments to hotel residents.
Our heat facilities, apart from the outdoor pool and jacuzzi, will remain closed. We are still awaiting further government guidance on how the heat facilities can be operated to maintain guest and staff safety at all times. For this reason, our Verbena Spa will currently not be open to non-resident guests for the time being.
Once we know we can offer the full Verbena Spa experience to our wonderful day guests we will announce this on social media and our website.

Thursday 9th July.
Further to the governement announcement earlier today we are delighted to confirm that our outdoor heated pool will be open for hotel residents from Saturday 11th July. There will be allocated time-slots for swimming which will be confirmed on check-in.
We will confirm the re-opening date for the Verbena Spa very soon and please keep an eye on this page and social media for updates.
Thursday 25th June
Further to the government announcement on Tuesday 23rd June, we were saddened to be told that we won't be able to open our Verbena Spa including the out-door swimming pool with the rest of the hotel on 4th July as previously hoped.
The UK hospitality association is lobbying hard to bring forward the date at which the remaining closed elements of the industry can open safely. We are optimistic that the government will give the green light to open our outdoor pool at some stage in July, hopefully in time for the summer holidays.
We sincerely hope that the temporary closure of our Verbena Spa & Pool will not deter you from visiting us in early July. We are sure that our warm hospitality, delightful food and drink offering (that can still be enjoyed on the poolside terrace) will provide a wonderful relaxing experience for our guests over the coming weeks.

I am delighted to announce that the Feversham Arms will re-open on Saturday 4th July.
We are looking forward to welcoming you back very soon and have been diligently working on our plans and procedures to protect the health and wellbeing of our valued guests and colleagues. Further to the Prime Minister’s recent announcement we have taken the sad but necessary decision to close the Feversham Arms and Verbena Spa at 11.00 am today (Tuesday 24th March 2020) until further notice.
Due to the fast-moving situation and updated government guidelines, the health and well-being of our guests and the dedicated team who look after them during their stay, must be our priority.
We appreciate there will be people with an upcoming reservation or a general enquiry and ask you to get in touch via email@example.com to discuss anything further We will be contacting all future guests (up until end of June 2020) directly over the coming days to reschedule your visit.

Further to our announcement yesterday and inline with the UK Spa Association and government recommendations the out-door swimming pool will now be closed.
Friday 20th March 2020
Following today’s Government announcement, we have taken the decision to close our Verbena Spa with immediate effect. We will also be closing our Weathervane Restaurant for non-residential diners.
We will still be serving in-room dining for our residents, following the strictest hygiene and food standard protocols, in line with Government and PHE guidance.
Our outdoor pool will also be open for our residents and members who are welcome to use this outdoor facility providing they observe the recommendations around social distancing.
These are the most unusual of circumstances that we find ourselves in. We cannot thank our residents, and members enough for their understanding at this moment in time.

We would like to reassure our guests that we are adhering to the guidelines issued by the British Government, Public Health England and the National Health Service regarding coronavirus (COVID-19).
The health of our staff and guests is our priority, and we have therefore put in place the following precautionary measures:
• We’ve increased how often we clean our public areas such as reception, lounge and dining areas, bathrooms and surfaces such as door handles and stair rails.
• Our food and beverage team follow and implement stringent food safety and hygiene guidelines
• We’ve increased the use and number of antibacterial hand sanitizers throughout the hotel and spa
• Our highly trained team of experts at Verbena Spa already follow a strict and stringent hygiene regime, sanitising tools and equipment, wearing gloves and frequent and thorough handwashing following every treatment for every one of our guests
In line with Government guidance, if you have a high temperature, or a newly acquired continuous cough, please postpone your visit, and stay at home for seven days.
