Thursday 30th July

We are delighted to announce that from Saturday 1st August our Verbena Spa will begin to offer treatments to hotel residents. 

Our heat facilities, apart from the outdoor pool and jacuzzi, will remain closed.  We are still awaiting further government guidance on how the heat facilities can be operated to maintain guest and staff safety at all times.  For this reason, our Verbena Spa will currently not be open to non-resident guests for the time being.

Once we know we can offer the full Verbena Spa experience to our wonderful day guests we will announce this on social media and our website.

We thank you for your patience and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Verbena Spa very soon.


Thursday 9th July

Further to the government announcement earlier today we are delighted to confirm that our outdoor heated pool will be open for hotel residents from Saturday 11th July.  There will be allocated time-slots for swimming which will be confirmed on check-in.

We will confirm the re-opening date for the Verbena Spa very soon and please keep an eye on this page and social media for updates.


Thursday 25th June

Further to the government announcement on Tuesday 23rd June, we were saddened to be told that we won't be able to open our Verbena Spa including the out-door swimming pool with the rest of the hotel on 4th July as previously hoped.

The UK hospitality association is lobbying hard to bring forward the date at which the remaining closed elements of the industry can open safely.  We are optimistic that the government will give the green light to open our outdoor pool at some stage in July,  hopefully in time for the summer holidays.

We sincerely hope that the temporary closure of our Verbena Spa & Pool will not deter you from visiting us in early July.  We are sure that our warm hospitality, delightful food and drink offering (that can still be enjoyed on the poolside terrace) will provide a wonderful relaxing experience for our guests over the coming weeks.

We are delighted to be able to open our doors once more and welcome you back to the Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and colleagues is at the forefront of everything we do and we would like to reassure you that a comprehensive range of risk assessments outlining our procedures in relation to COVID-19 are in place. We will continue to follow and implement future Government and Public Health England (PHE) guidance as and when it happens.

Our housekeeping team have always been thorough, but guests may now notice that this previously discreet service will be very visible throughout the Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa. This will include:

Enhanced Cleaning and Sanitation

Enhanced cleanliness and sanitation
Extensive and frequent use of hand sanitation and sanitation units around the hotel
Deep and frequent clean and sanitation of guest bedrooms, bar and restaurant and public spaces such as corridors, reception, lounge etc
Frequent checks and audits of cleaning protocols
Frequent cleaning of all surfaces, handrails, lift buttons, desks, telephones etc
Guests will be asked to abide by the social distancing rules in communal areas

Guests Bedroom Hygiene Protocol

To ensure that we successfully manage enhanced cleanliness protocols and social distancing rules we will have fewer rooms available at any given moment. Our enhanced hygiene protocols include:

All linen removed and laundered between guest visits
All in-room facilities will be deep cleaned between guest visits
This single use strategy will extend to publications, leaflets and magazines which will no longer be available in public areas but behind reception and provided on request

Social Distancing

We ask that our team and our guests respect the current Government guidelines around social distancing.

Seating areas and workstations will be arranged to respect the current 2-metre social distancing guidance
We have currently suspended our valet parking to protect the safety of our guests and of our team
We will operate a one-way system of lifts going up and stairs coming down and will flex accordingly to facilitate any reduced mobility requirements

Social Distancing in our Bars & Restaurants

Tables will respect social distancing measures of 2 metres between parties
A preferred time slot for dinner may be requested at the point of making a hotel reservation However, breakfast, lunch and dinner times will be confirmed on check-in to ensure times are staggered so that we can accommodate safe seating practice.
Many of our rooms and suites have their own dining area and guests are welcome to enjoy fine dining in the comfort of their own room
Room service is encouraged for guests who would prefer not to use the communal dining area
Under the current Government guidelines 6 is the maximum table size allowed
Weather permitting, we encourage guests to enjoy outdoor dining in our Mediterranean terrace area with a view of the pool
We have suspended the breakfast buffet but the extensive breakfast menu, including our world-famous Yorkshire breakfast, will be available at your table

When dining with us in the Weathervane restaurant and the lounge and terrace areas we have put in place the following procedures;

• We operate on a table service only basis.
• Once you have been seated, our waiting team will come and take your food and beverage order at the same time.
• Your cutlery will arrive at the same time as your food.
• Drinks will be served as normal.
• When you have finished a course, a member of our waiting team will approach your table with a service tray – we ask if you could kindly put your empty plates on the tray.
• The same approach will be adopted when clearing empty glass wear.
• Once you have finished your meal, we will bring over the bill for you to sign or pay accordingly.
• Please note we adopt a zero cash policy.

Verbena Spa

The Verbena Spa is currently closed, but we will continue to update our protocols as new information becomes available.

Our team

Our team has undertaken robust training around the new health and hygiene protocols prior to reopening
Our team will have their temperatures checked on arrival before their shift
Additional hand washing procedures and audits have been introduced for our team
We have implemented staggered arrival and departure times for our admin team
PPE will be provided for our team members where appropriate such as face coverings, disposable gloves, and gowns if required
