Autumn is finally here, and after the not too sunny British summer we’ve had this year, we’re looking forward to all things Autumnal.
Autumn colours, activities, food and drink – there really isn’t anything we don’t like about the Autumn months (except perhaps the rain!).
As we’re situated in North Yorkshire, our guests have ample opportunity to explore the stunning North York Moors that surround us. They’re different in each season and we have to say that the deep oranges, browns and yellows on the trees at this time of year make it one of our favourite times to be exploring the countryside.
The North York Moors website offers a huge selection of walks to choose from, so whether you fancy a light stroll enjoying the spectacular views or something a little longer to really get the heart pumping, there will always be something new for you to choose from.
For those who just can’t get enough of the great outdoors then our Verbena Spa is the place for you. We host a striking outdoor heated pool (heated to 30 degrees all year round may we add) as well as a luxurious Jacuzzi, so you can enjoy the cooler Autumn weather even in your swimsuit.
After getting that fresh Yorkshire air in your lungs, you can retire back to our lovely snug and watch the fire roar as you enjoy a warming winter cocktail. Our bar team create seasonal cocktails to ensure your drink matches the weather outside!
We’ve covered walking, colours, relaxing and drinks but what makes Autumn that extra bit special is the delicious winter warming dishes. Our Weathervane restaurant offer a whole host of hearty choices using the finest locally sourced ingredients. Our three-course seasonal menu has a huge variety to suit everyone’s taste buds and the desserts really are to die for! Our favorite is the Cherry semifreddo – delicious! The three-course seasonal menu is just £48 per person for restaurant guests and is included in the Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package.
So, let’s embrace these Autumnal months. Explore the countryside (whether that’s on foot or in our spa), warm up with a winter cocktail by the fire and finish off with a hearty seasonal menu in the restaurant – we really couldn’t think of anything better to be honest.
