Feversham has high hopes for latest award nomination
Here at the Feversham Arms we value the hard work of every one of our team members - and our apprentices are no different.
So when we were nominated as Small Employer of the Year in the 2015 York Apprenticeship Awards, just weeks after our being named as a contender in the White Rose Awards, and as a runner up in the Concierge of the Year Boutique Hotelier Awards, we were over the moon.
There are now just a few days until we hear the results, with winners being named at the awards on Thursday (November 19), and having recently taken on one of the apprentices in a permanent role as HR administrator excitement is even more palpable.
Charles Merchie, General Manager of Feversham Arms Hotel, said he was delighted the business had been recognised for its work with apprentices.
“We really value the hard work and effort put in by the apprentices we employ here,” he said. “We have recently had four apprentices working with us, with one of those having just been taken on in a permanent role as HR administrator.
“It’s great for us and we allow them to become part of the team with their own goals and achievements, giving them a real understanding of the business and we hope, a good grounding for their future employment in the hospitality industry.”
The award presentation is taking place on Thursday as part of the York Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony at The Royal York Hotel, when more than 1,000 apprentices will be in line to graduate.
