Mud Pack Day

National Mud Pack Day (yes, really!) is an annual event that takes place on 30th September every year. Falling on a Friday for 2016, a mud pack facial is the perfect way to welcome in the weekend!

Mud packs aren’t a modern phenomenon. They can be traced back to the 16th century, where during the Renaissance people would be packed in ‘therapeutic’ mud before bathing. This practice was carried on into the 19th and 20th centuries where further refinements were made to the process. Rather than bathing in mud, it was during this period that the mud pack first came into existence. Mud contains important minerals that helps improve the skin’s complexion, reduces dark circles and absorbs excess oils and toxins from the skin.

Not only is the mud pack a ‘must have’ skin care product, it is also extremely relaxing. Our Purification Facial ends with a deep cleansing mud mask and is designed to give your face a really good spring clean. The 60-minute treatment begins with an effective brush cleanse followed by a tranquil face massage. The treatment ends with an exfoliation and deep cleansing mud mask, whilst you indulge in a soothing scalp massage.

And mud packs aren’t just for women! Our Purification Facial is popular with both male and female clients, so come down to the Verbena Spa and let’s celebrate National Mud Pack Day together…what better way to wind down on a Friday?
