Meet the Team - Maria Rodriguez
For this week’s blog, we’ve decided to do something a little different. We love telling you all about the things we love most about Helmsley, what’s going on in the local area and the fantastic services and deals we have on offer, but what about the people behind those services?
For the first in our series of Meet the Team blogs, we’d like to introduce you to Maria Rodriguez, our Food and Beverage Services Manager.
Maria is a relatively new recruit here at the Feversham Arms Hotel, having joined the team in October 2016, but has already made a big impact.
Day to day, Maria looks after all our food and beverage outlets in the hotel, including our 100 Days in Provence outdoor restaurant, to ensure guest satisfaction throughout a person’s stay with us. She is passionate about creating positive relationships with our guests, and works hard to make sure everyone’s needs are catered for.
We sat down with Maria to ask her about some of her favourite things about the role, the hotel and some of her funniest experiences in the hospitality industry:
Hi Maria, what is your favourite part of the job?
I love that every day is a surprise – no two days are the same for me. My job is fun and allows me to meet new people and learn from them; that includes both guests and colleagues.
Tell us the funniest/most interesting thing you’ve experienced in your job?
Asking Heston Blumenthal how he would like his eggs! Fortunately, he didn’t want them poached in liquid nitrogen or anything like that.
What attracted you to work at Feversham Arms?
The luxury feel the hotel has. I love that Feversham is a destination in itself, not just a place to base yourself to explore our beautiful surroundings – however, it is great for that too!
What makes Feversham Arms unique?
The location, product and the staff. I feel that people here care and want guests to have the best stay possible.
Why should people visit Feversham Arms?
Because we are little piece of heaven within Yorkshire
