Visit North Yorkshire for a Spooky Halloween
We’re well in to October and in the midst of Autumn, which can only mean one thing… Halloween is just around the corner! Here at the Feversham Arms, we believe that Halloween should be enjoyed by parents and children alike, so we’ve listed a few family-friendly events that our guests can visit.
Just a 16-minute drive away, the Ryedale Folk Museum offers an array of unique activities to get you and your family excited for Halloween. The spooky fun begins on Monday 29th October, where you’ll visit the pop-up apothecary in which you can have go at making a special potion. This is followed by a broomstick making workshop. Here, you’ll create your own witches’ broomstick before joining in on a short flying lesson. If that wasn’t enough to get you in the Halloween spirit, the museum is also offering wand making activities and fun cookery workshops on 31st October, as well as the chance to dress up in magical costume in the photography studio.
For those who like to embark on a spooky trail, Thorp Perrow might just be the place for you. The Halloween Trail is perfect for a family day out, and runs every day until 4th November. You and your family can join in on the fun and experiment with fancy dress. You’ll also find a few unexpected surprises along the way, with mythical creatures hiding in the ditches! When you’re ready for a break, there is a quaint tearoom on site that serves delicious autumn and winter (and Halloween!) themed treats.
Fancy something a little scarier? For those who are extra brave, Hallowscream at York Maze is perfect for anyone who likes the ultimate thrilling Halloween experience. Join in on the fear and fun by entering the 5 separate live-action haunted house attractions. You’ll have spooky surprises jumping out at you at any time – so go well prepared! There will also be food and drink on site for when you need a break.
Halloween at Flamingo Land is a great day out for those who like to experience a wide variety of activities. Located just a 26-minute drive away from Feversham Arms, you’ll be able to get stuck in with the fun by taking part in a Halloween fancy dress competition, the ‘Stalk in the Park’, a spooky indoor train ride and a Peter Rabbit pumpkin trail.
