We’re ‘wheely’ excited
It’s that time of year again. There’s just under a week to go until the start of the Tour de Yorkshire 2018 and we can’t wait.
From the 3rd to the 6th May, some of the world’s top cyclists will head to our beautiful corner of the world to take on the Moors, Dales and cities of the North East. Since its inaugural race in 2015, the event has attracted around 3.5m visitors to our glorious county.
While there’s plenty to see and do all along the route, the part we’re most excited for is when the riders come whizzing through our beautiful market town of Helmsley during the third stage of the race on Saturday, 5th May.
We’ll definitely be cheering them on as they go by!
Here in Helmsley, we’re nestled snuggly in the foothills of the North York Moors National Park.
Home to history, heritage and horticulture there’s plenty to explore right on our doorstep, from the beautiful ruins of Helmsley Castle to the vibrant displays at the Walled Garden and the National Centre for Birds of Prey.
If you’re looking for a bolt hole from which to enjoy to the excitement and buzz of the race, especially during the Bank Holiday weekend, we don’t think there’s anywhere better!
Whether you want to experience culture or comfort, we’ve got a wide range of rooms available to suit all tastes. Plus, as a dog-friendly hotel, that sense of adventure can be experienced and enjoyed by all the family.
After all that excitement, you can refuel with a delicious meal in The Weathervane and re-energise with a relaxing visit to the Verbena Spa.
