To start our first blog we are dedicating it to 'Wellness during menopause'

We’re very passionate about life and great products to help us live it to the full - no matter what stage of life we’re at. We have customers in their late teens through to their eighties and we love that. However, we discovered that the largest group we have are in the in-between and that means we’re either about to go through, are going through, or have been through the lovely thing called the menopause!

Temple Spa have teamed up with experts to bring us advice on navigating perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms. Consulting with these carefully selected panel of experts from doctors, health, fitness, nutrition, mindfulness and of course our own authority in skincare, research showed that many menopausal symptoms have a collective effect on our skin, body and soul. With this in mind the new menopause treatment 'YOUR BEST YOU' was created. A unique top-to-toe treatment that is bespoke to you, supporting fully during your second spring, no matter what stage you are at.

Your Best You

The Menopause - a few facts

In short, it’s the end of a woman’s menstrual cycle. It happens when ovaries no longer make oestrogen and progesterone, two hormones needed for fertility. The stages of Menopause are usually diagnosed by your GP. But we as women are intuitive, we usually know when its upon us. We have three stages that take place over time:

Stage 1: Perimenopause - This first stage can take anything from six months to six years, everyone is different. This stage is your body preparing itself for the beginning of menopause; this effects the regularity of your periods, they’ll become irregular but won’t yet stop. Most women hit this stage around age 47 but for others it can come early.

Stage 2: Menopause: This is when you will have your final period. A GP will determine if you have reached menopause when you have not had a period for 12 consecutive months. Good idea to diarise this as time passes and you can’t always remember.

Stage 3: Post-menopause: This begins when you hit the one-year mark from your final period. Every woman is different, and this stage may continue for four to five years. Your body will then begin to settle down – although the symptoms of menopause lessen, it is really important to keep up with a lifestyle that supports this change.
